UI Mind Mapping
I have started the mind mapping for my UI, I am going to create both a Main Menu and a Pause Menu.
Here you can see my mind map for my Main Menu:

Choosing a Blockout
I have decided to go with this block out simply due to its simplistic nature, the HUD clearly shows the map, the players health, the players weapons and the players ammo while not taking up a lot of space on the screen.
HUD Blockout
Below you can see the block out that I have created for my HUD, I have considered a number of things while creating these block out and how I can make them easy and assessable for players to use.
Above the HUD's that I have created are very well suited for a shooter game as they both clearly indicate the players level of health, the world map and their weapons and ammo.
Above you can see that I have gone for a more basic and simplistic HUD, sometimes less is more and some players won't really appreciate a HUD taking up their entire screen, these HUD's would work perfectly in a shooter game as the clearly display the players weapon, ammo and health wile taking up very little space on screen, I currently favour these two HUD's over my previous two.
Finally, I also took into consideration games always change through development, sometimes to a small extent and sometimes to a large extent, above you can see that I have created a HUD for a platformer style game and for a multiplayer mode.
Task 2
For this task I will be creating a User Interface and HUD that I will then look to incorporate into my level. I will mind map the HUD and then create block outs of my HUD and create a final concept of my HUD. Likewise with my UI, I will mind map, block out and create a final concept for my UI.
